​Jim Poirier was a long time SLIA board member and played a major role in organizing the Kids Panfishing Day each year from its inception in 2002 through 2015.  With Jim’s passing in 2016, it was highly appropriate that the SLIA rename the event the Jim Poirier Memorial Kids Fishing Day.

For this year's contest there were 65 kids registered and 55 fish registered.
